2007 Honda Accor SRS Code 11-40 - 2004 Honda Accord

This is an SRS code. Go to the Honda owners sight an enter your VIN in recalls. it will show you any on your Odyssey.

This cannot be diagnosed without testing the car. Not much I can do for you here, sorry.

First you have to check for codes

Then diagnose the srs issue,if there is one

You need professional scan tool software &
then go to Enhanced Mode, to access the srs
system module

So your done & need a repair shop

I would suggest taking the car to your local auto shop. The check engine light can mean many different things, so there is no definitive solution.

SRS= Supplemental Restraint System aka AIRBAG system. All Civics have srs starting in around 1992.

SRS module need 13.8V or above to operate.

Check voltage output on from the battery posts.

It should read 13.8V to 14.1V

A weak/failing alternator and/or belt will produce under
13.6V.

Here's a quick check list for most common cost of SRS / Air bag problem.

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger seat belt buckles

Dirty contacts on seat belt connectors (under seats)

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger sides weight sensors (under seat)

Seat covers

Weight on passenger seat
(Example: grocery package trigger SRS / Air Bag light on the way home.)

I recommend you to pass an vacuum over the contacts and use CRC electronic parts cleaner to rule out connectivity problem.

I DO NOT recommend disconnecting the negative battery connector to clean the code(s).

Without the code(s) the dealer will takes "BILLABLE" time to reproduce the problem.

I'm having the same problem, my SRS light is on too. Just so you know, I just got a thing in the mail from Honda for my 2001 Honda Civic DX Sedan for a recall on the airbag system (SRS is part of the same system as airbags, I think). Hope this gives you a bit more info!!

only dealer can get you the code and you have to prove you are the owner of the car.

safety restrane system(srs) get the car on a scanner to see what code you got if you whant disconnect the battery it will clear the code maybe will stay off let me know pierre
