one of two things are going on.
1. The door lock cylinder is worn out needs replacing.
2. It's not recognising the key fob. Try this..
you can use your
key to open the trunk ,thankfully! , try and unplug the
battery, and then connect the two
wires that go to the battery together for about a minute, and then reconnect them both to the battery. It's call a hard restart, and it might fix your problem.
won't mess anything up by doing this.

I just went out to the car and followed seemingly straight forward instructions and of course it did not work, looks like I will have to pay unreasonably high price to have the dealership do it!!!
According to the dealer's service department, they use their computer to reset the code!
