Look close to the fire-wall in the area under the driver's-side windshield wiper. If you're adding refrigerant with the system from an auto-parts store, the fitting on the hose will not fit the high-side port, only the low-side port. Also, there should be a black plastic cap on the low-side port.
I have an 02 Impala w/ 3.8L. I'm pretty sure the low pressure port is next to the air filter box. The other port is between the engine and firewall. See picture.
I have a 2002 Impala 3.8L
There is one port between the air filter box and strut tower (driver's side). I'm pretty sure that's the low pressure port.
The high port is against the firewall behind the engine, about in the middle.
The ports are covered by black caps.
As I recall, the Low port is right behind the Air Filter box on the passenger side near the fender and forward of the strut tower.
I'm pretty sure the High port is the one in the top middle of the firewall, not too far from the transmission dip stick (red).
They can hide these pretty good, you may not like this ,but here goes.Find the ac compressor ,and follow the large ac line/hose that comes off of the ac compressor. It will take you to the low side service port.It will be the small port. Most of the time it is located on the dryer,or near it,but not always, but it will be on the large line of the ac system. If I can help ,let me know.>>[email protected]
