SOURCE: Lost door lock remote for 2001 Nissan Xterra.

You don't want to turn the security system completely off, besides there really is no need to. To arm and disarm the vehicle simply use the key in the drivers door. When you turn the key and lock the car the system will arm after about 30 seconds. When you come back to the car and unlock the car with the drivers door lock cylinder the system will unarm, just the same as if you were using the remote. If the system is unarmed and it still wont start you probably have a NATS issue with the key. This is different than simply disarming. You can't shut off or disarm the NATS system.

2001 Nissan Xterra 5 speed manual 4x4 wont won't shift into 2nd, 4th, or reverse.

Probably issues with Shift Solenoids. You need a transmission specialist or an auto electrician with a pro grade bi-directional scan tool computer that can tell the solenoids to operate and confirm that they did. Or it is the powertrain module that is at fault.

My 2001 Nissan Xterra engine stopped while driving... It jerked intermittently and finally came to a stop. The mileage is 61450 and I have not changed the timing belt. I bought last year February. The

You might want to check the distributor. Take the cap off and check if there is play on the rotor shaft. It's only supposed to turn, but if there's play when moving it back and forth, better you replace the distributor now. The 2000-2004 Xterras have a bad distributor shaft and the throttle positioner sensor is on the shaft. Just FYI.

2001 Nissan Xterra with start up problems.

If you are a 3.3 you are equipt with a timing belt,But you state this is periodically. So if the vehicle does this periodically and at other times are normal This rules out a skip timing belt. Two major player stick out that does this intermitently, Both are inside the distributor and one is not serviceable CKP/CMP .The 120 degree failure will stall you at take of. The 1 degree will backfire through the intake, both these failure or either one will stall you at load. The CKP/CMP is capable of doing this if they are oil contaminated. The ICM (ignition control module) this is inside the distributor when this goes out it can be while you are driving and all of a sudden it stutter and shakes the whole vehicle. then if it wants to it stop and everything is normal. And this does not set of a code. So if this is intermittent your solution is a whole distributor.

Nissan xterra turned off as i was driving and wont start just turns over what could be the problem

since it just quit running all the sudden as you where driving it sounds like the ignition control module, sorry i dont know exactly where it is on your particular vehicle but the parts house you buy it at can certainly point you in the right direction, hope this works out 4 you!!

I drive a 2001 Nissan Xterra. Noticed that the middle part of the compressor is not turning to work the A/C Meaning no cool air..how do I get the compressor going again?

check the fuses and relay to ac compressor. if relay is bad the ac clutch will not engage. if its getting power and still will not work, it may be the clutch mecanisim is bad.
