As vehicles age, various problems may develop with the hard and soft tops. If problems are encountered, it would be recommended to have a technician familiar with these tops perform the diagnoses. Good-Day!

No power to convertible switch 2000 mustang gt fuse are ok

Principles of Operation
The convertible top will only operate with the parking brake engaged and the ignition switch in the RUN position. When the parking brake is engaged, the raise and lower relay coils are grounded through the parking brake switch. The convertible top switch supplies power to the raise or lower relay coil when raise or lower is selected. This power energizes the coil causing the relay contacts to close which supplies battery power to the convertible top motor/pump assembly. The normal state of the relay is connected to ground. When the raise or lower relay is operating, the other relay remains in its normal state supplying the motor/pump ground.

Inspection and Verification
  1. Verify the customer concern by operating the system.
  1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.

    Visual Inspection Chart Mechanical Electrical
    • Door and quarter window glass adjustment.
    • Convertible top brackets and frame.
    • Hydraulic motor and pump.
    • Hydraulic lift cylinders.
    • Central junction box (CJB) Fuse 20 (15A).
    • Battery junction box (BJB) circuit breaker CONV TOP (25A).
    • Wiring harness.
    • Loose or corroded connections.
    • Raise or lower relays.
    • Parking brake switch.
    • Convertible top switch.
  1. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
  1. If the concern is not visually evident, verify the symptom and refer to the Symptom Chart.

1991 Hilux 2.8ltr diesel 5spd Man, stuck in 4th gear, won't budge, clutch still works.

Forth gear is when the input shaft is connected directly to the out put shaft by the sliding dog. 2 possible reasons 1 the pall that holds the selector shaft in position is jammed from possibly a broken spring ( remove the plug in the side/top of the box if you have one) or the connecting dog has broken a synchro ring and this is not allowing it to move back. It is possible that the inter connecting pin that prevents too shafts from moving at the same time is stuck as well.

Won't start, clicking noise

Generally cold car start man sound possible reasons: 1, the camshaft with the top cup of impact sound. Your car is in 2010, the top cup problems should be impossible. 2, the carbon canister solenoid valve work. Car starts, generally there is a man's ring this part may also be at work voice (the sound is normal), the sound becomes smaller after hot car. According to your description said after the start will shake, estimation is a have a canister that parts have a problem (or canister or agricultural piping or solenoid valve). The repair parts cheaper. Other: you can listen to the sound source ourselves: one is close to the engine, a listen to is on the right front headlight.maybe you need ;autodiagnostictool

My 1993 Ford Mustang convertible won't go up.But the motor is coming on.Also it will go down thou

There must be a hydraulic fluid leak somewhere. Check to see if there is oil filler cap on your hydraulic pump located in the trunk compartment. Fill if necessary with just enough fluid to raise the top. The reason it won't go up is cause it is lacking pressure from the low fluid

WHY WON'T THE CONVERTIBLE TOP MOTOR ENGAGE. WHILE DRIVING TOP BUTTON BLINKS RAPIDLY.

The top should not work above a certain speed or at all if the vehicle is moving. The top can easily rip from the wind if deployed at too fast a speed and even make the car unstabile while rolling.

Most tops will raise above the windshield height when they deploy and can fail to clear carports or drive-thru facilities. The tops can catch low hanging light fixtures or even garage door openings.

The car sat up awhile. The battery died. We replaced the battery but the car still won't start. Everything comes on. The starter was tested and it was fine. What is the problem?

THERE ARE MANY POSSIBLE CONDITIONS THAT COULD PREVENT YOURCAR FROM STARTING. 1. NUTERAL SAFETY SWITCH IF THE CAR HAS AN AUTOMATICTRANSMISSION. 2. CLUTCH POSITION SWITCH IF THE CAR HAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION.3. BRAKE PEDAL SWITCH. MANY NEWER VEHICLES HAVE A SWITCH ON THE BRAKE PEDAL ANDIF THE PEDAL IS NOT DEPRESSED WHILE TRYING TO START THE CAR, THE CAR WON'TSTART. ANOTHER POSSIBLILITY IS THE SECURITY SYSTEM. DOES THE CAR HAVE ASECURITY CHIP IN THE KEY? THESE ARE SOME OF THE MOST COMMON REASONS THAT A CARWON'T START FOR NO APPARENT REASON. HOPE THIS HELPS.

While running the temp stays normal but if i get stuck in a traffic the temp stars raising really fast

You may have a problem with the fan clutch. Is the check engine light on? If it is, have the codes read to find out what the problem is.
Another possibility is a bad water pump impeller, a worn impeller won't move enough coolant to keep the temperature down.

'97 mustang coupe driver's window switch to raise passenger window isn't working. what are the possible reasons and are there any I can take care of?

if it raises the window from the passenger side switch, then its not the motor, i would look into replacing the switch on the driver door, and make sure all wiring is in tact
