The best advise I can give is DON'T mess about with the Can Bus system!! Very expensive to fix if you get it wrong!! It could just be one of those things that is not really fixable. There might be an aftermarket horn sounder that might respond faster than the stock OEM unit. Half a second isn't that big. I have an Opel that takes longer than that and it's the factory setup.

it could be a seal that is worn/damaged or you have a fuel line leak above the tank also there may be a hole in the tank, although I can`t see it on a 2006 car but you never know.

Depends on engine type. To be honest I would not attempt this job without either a Haynes manual to hand or one of those cheap Vauxhall-Opel "TIS" DVDs available on eBay.
