Why reverse wont work

I tried the
DIY service and repair manuals from a website and it actually helped me repair transmission problem in my jcb 3cx site-master. it wont move forward or reverse, engine is good both solenoids for forward and reverse work.
I don't have much technical knowledge but I just followed it step-wise, and works perfect! got it from www.reliable-store.com

Find the reversing switch on the gearbox.....pull off and spray contacts with wd40.

Throttle lever sensor box failure, i got the same problem, after changed, all are fine.

i would start simple on this and check the fuel pump relay first. there not that expensive you can try to replace if you cant find specs to test it. if that does not work then i would say its your fuel pump that went out.

You didn't tell us under which conditions it is dying while at a steady speed, at an idle, when cold or warm, etc. Knowing those would help narrow the cause.
At a guess, I would be looking at the coil pack, idle air control or a failing fuel pump.

Transmission is not junk. You need to replace the valve body with a rebuilt one. The cause of reverse not working is because the booster valve cannot create sufficient pressure to get into reverse (reverse requires the most pressure). The booster valve is worn down and the valve body needs to be replaced, rebuilt is the way to go. This is from not changing the fluid and filter every 20,000 -- 30,000 miles to keep gunk from building up and wearing down the valve.

The transmission is fine, don't let anyone talk you into putting another one in, especially for thousands of dollars, NOT THE PROBLEM.

Change your fluid and filter and see if that helps,and put a can of lucas in it

YES SOUNDS LIKE IT IS THE SOLENOID NOT SHIFTING INTO REVERSE OR TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE NOT SENDING SIGNAL TO VALVE BODY SOLENOID

no, you need a transmission, A used one cost about 3 to 4 hundred dollars at the junk yards

very nice car. dumb question for you, is the car still under any warranty that covers the drivetrain? it sounds like to me that the reverse shift solenoid has either one gone bad or two the wire harness going to it has an issue. are there any check engine lights on, if so have those been recovered and diagnosed yet? does the vehicle do fine in all other gears, no slipping or anything. does the auto stick work ok? let me know so i can try to help you out more. thank you
