97 chevy blazer start and stalls if you dump fuel down intake it run
Remove the gas cap and listen at the filler neck while someone else turns the key to on but does not start it . You should hear the fuel pump run for 2 seconds. If not check fuses and fuel pump relay . If you hear it run check fuel filter and fuel pressure. I'm guessing you have a throttle body, if so you should have 9-13 psi with the engine not running. If not you probably need to change the fuel pump.
Sounds like maybe a fuel filter or maybe the fuel pump.
I had a 1997 s10 4*4 with the 2.8 v6.
mine do that I had to pull the gas tank replace fuel filter plus had to take undo the line from the intake and blow air thru it. Make sure all u're filter are replaced and y u have the tank down replace the fuel pump. I hope this helps u

I am a gm tech u either have a egr valve stuck open or a leaking fuel press regulator which is under the upper plenum i would check the valve first just remove the valve it should be visibly open if thats your problem.
SOURCE: Chevy Blazer won't start; fuel pump needs replacing
Before spending several hundres on a fuel pump, I recommend doing a fuel pressure test. You can get a test gauge pretty cheap at a parts store. If the pump is junk, you raise the truck, lower the fuel tank, unplug the electronics from the pump at the top of the tank, then with a hammer and flat head scrwedrive, gently tap the lock ring in a counter clockwise direction until it pops off. Pull the pump assembly out and install the new one. Reverse directions to install.

check fuel pressure to the fuel rail to see if you are recieving fuel to the fuel rail if so the injectors are suspect

did you check power and ground at the fuel pump connector?there should be power at two wires at the connector, one should have constant power with the key on and thats for your fuel gage, the other power wire should have it only when cranking or for about 3-5 seconds when the key is turned on,check both of those first and that will let you know that everything is fine all the way forward of that connector, also did u replace just the pump or the whole sending unit?if you just replaced the pump the connector that runs fron the sending unit to the actual pump itself inside the tank also goes bad on this setup too, look for brown or burn marks on the inside of the sending unit where this connector hooks uo,hope this helps
