SOURCE: 2002 Izusu Rodeo timing problems

Check with your local Izuzu dealer, there is a procedure to set the cams in proper relationship with each other. This involves turning the cams up to 8 rotations to have them "jump" into the proper spot. I have had the same problem and found a bulletin that shows the correct way to time the engine.

SOURCE: replacing the power steering pump on a 1998 isuzu rodeo

Remove low pressure and high pressure hoses (this one could be hard to break loose). You might want to have an oil pan handy, to capture the oil. Disconnect electrical sensor. Remove the bolt that holds belt tension adjustment plate. And finally remove the bolt that holds the pump in place. It is bolted from the back and located at the right lower corner of the pump if you are facing the front of the car. Remove the pump assy. I could not remove belt pulley at home, no matter how hard I tried. Ended up taking it to an automotive shop and they removed it in no time, using one of those "pneumatic impact guns". Assemble new pump. Fill the reservoir with PS oil. Make sure both of the front wheels are off the ground, start the engine and slowly spin the steering wheel back and forth for about 5 minutes or untill screeching sound stops and the liquid in the reservoir stops foaming. That will bleed any air that is in the system. Don't go all the way to the end of stroke. Good luck.

SOURCE: water pump replacement 96 isuzu rodeo

Remove belt, fan, fan shroud and fan bracket. Remove timing covers, timing belt and water pump. Replace timing belt and the hydraulic tensioner with new ones. I suggest you get a mechanic to do this as you can easly get it out of time. Not an easy job.

SOURCE: replace water pump 1994 isuzu

I am replacing my water pump on a 1994 Isuzu pick up truck with a 3.2 L engine (V6). (VIN ENGINE I.D. LG6) I am a little timid about replacing the water pump because of the removal and installation of the timing belt. I an afraid about disturbing the valve timing. Could you described fully the process involved with this part of my project?

My mechanic is telling me that it's necessary to replace the water pump on my 2002 Isuzu Rodeo when replacing the serpentine belt. Is this true? Ball park figure, how much would it be to replace both?

BS. Water pump should be replaced with the TIMING BELT. The serpentine belt doesnt even touch the water pump. If you have a V6 that is. but you didnt say what engine you have.

Is it necessary to take the timming belt off to replace the water pump on a 1996 isuzu rodeo

3.2L engine, you will have to remove timing belt to replace water pump, your water pump is timing belt driven, I would replace timing belt while in there, good luck, hope this was very helpful.

Replace thermostat on isuzu axiom

I just had a garage replace my thermostat on my 2002 Isuzu Axiom. The book calls for 2 hrs labor, no way. iI took the garage more like 5 hrs plus, they ate the additional 3 hrs of labor. Note, the intake manifold must be removed and even then special tools are needed because it is still buried deep down. The garage took pictures ot this one because of how ridiculours Isuzu designed the location.
