Acura 1996 SLX SUV 4x4
Drains battery oil dripping from somewhere directly landing on alternator. Sputters and cuts out. No key in ignition and when getting a jump as soon as the positive connects the car tries to start with no key. When 40 fuse is connected to 4x4 slot with no key in ignition it tries to turn over and fan comes on. Please help desperately need to have truck working ASAP.

driver side can only get to it from bottom getting it off is one thing out is another i would take it off then test it while the starter is still trapped in there, by either touch two post together or getting someone to turn key, while you are watching starter gear carefully.
is the filter tight? did someone forget to remove the old filter O ring gasket? that is more common than u think, check it before u spend at least $100-150 on the housing.
