2001 dodge Dakota was trying to stall. then it would turn over but not crank. I replaced the crank position sensor, it started, run good. the next morning, same thing, it would turn over but not crank. when the ignition is turned on, I can hear the fuel pump kick in, so I assume its not the fuel pump.
Your Dodge could fail to start for a number of reasons, trial and error approach could be costly so before throwing more parts at the problem i would suggest you have a proper diagnostics test done , the cause could be as simple as a corroded wire connection , let us know what codes were retrieved and we can guide you from there .

Check the plugs to see if you all cylinders are burning clean. Multiple fouled plugs can cause the same problem. Wet plugs indicate they aren't firing at all, which means the coil pack isn't working. Check the air filter, it could be choking the motor if it's too dirty. Check the fuel filter to see if it's clogged from dirty gas.
