SOURCE: Can't find the dip stick or fill tnk for trans on Jeep 1987 Cherk
thats because the fill point is on the trans you will have to crawl under the vech and look for a plug at the top of the trans remove that plug make sure you add the right fluid check with the dealer for the recommended fluid add the fluid until it runs out the hole let it set for awhile install the plug start the vech run it through the gears and recheck good luck kdc744
SOURCE: how to check the transmission fluid
If this is an auto tranny the dipstick is located against the firewall just to the passenger side of the auto. If this is a standard transmission it does not have a dispstick but a plug on the side of the transmission. You remove the plug and the gear oil should be level with the hole. If not use a squeeze bottle to put 85w to 90w gear oil into the tranny.
SOURCE: proper way to check transmission fluid
You always check transmission fluid with it running and in park,If your dip stick has a place on it for cold use it cold,Other wise it should be on the full mark, you might want to look under your jeep for any new leaks!
Testimonial: "thanks alot, thats what I thought, no leaks that I can see, I guess they didn't fill it all the way back up"
SOURCE: this is for a 1999
Yes it is a problem, you can have a waterpump that leaks as the engine runs, when the vehicle warms up coolant expands and goes to the resovoir,as you turn the engine off and the engine cools off the fluid in the resovoir reutns to the engine but here the problem the radiator cap cant do its job when the water pump leaks
SOURCE: Where's the dip stick to the transmission on a
there isnt one. your main dealer will have one to manually check it otherwise its all on the computer, just to stop us from checking ourselves & to make us pay more at the garage.
