We're there any other codes? This DTC code is a Turbo issue. The trouble code suggests the turbo is not working at its best, not enough 'boost' for the engine. Try this web page for ideas for what to check next. https://www.obd-codes.com/p0299
What ,year audi and model? EPC LIGHT PO299. let me see if i can find out with out year and model. okay, if your car has turbo then this is correct, po299 low boost. this may be caused by a bad diverter valve on the turbo, if you remove it and look ay diaphram for any cracks or splits in rubber, if it is then replace it ,check for an update valve at dealer. there are other thing that can cause this code but start with that. a loose hose for the turbo can cause this code or bad turbo or clogged converter, or oil sulge problem.
Try to find with your dealer the TSB about (summary): OIL SEEPAGE FROM TURBO AIR CHARGE COOLER HOSES OR HOSE BLOWING
OFF DURING ACCELERATION. POSSIBLE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE P0299.
code#2146 fuel injector group a supply voltage ckt (open) code# po299 turbo/supercharger (underboost) code# po483 control fan rationality check (malfunction) code# po513 immobilizer (incorrect)
Although I don't have my books here for this particular car, I believe the code is a turbo charger/super charger problem. I think is says low boost which is a mechanical Fault
The CEL means there is a Diagnostic Fault Code stored in the Engine Control Unit. There are 1000's of DTC's, so you will need to have it read by a Code Reader. Auto Parts stores like Auto Zone, Pep Boys, perhaps even Advanced Auto often will read the code for you; but by law they cannot clear the codes. Many codes do not cause drivability problems, severe ones will trigger the ECU to run in a Limp Mode, which would require repair work before any trip longer than a few miles. Hope this is helpful.
check engine light something with the turbo
