Why does my truck stall and then restart itself back up again?

I have a 2001 Silverado 2500HD two wheel drive with an 8.1 engine, I put a range sensor and speed sensor on transmission because I had it checked out and was told those two items were causing my truck to **** skip stall sometimes. so I put those parts in there and now the truck will out and restart itself while I'm driving it , what is causing that, to stall and restart like that? Help!!!

fisrt gear clutch is burned out , if you push the truck with a car up to 30 mph and drop it into drive you will get 2nd and 3rd , but when you stop you have nothing. if first gear clutch burns up you don't get any forward gears.

SOURCE: my truck loses power

In most cases it is the fuel filter. I don't know when it was changed before, but it should be changed at least every 8-10 k miles. Make sure you change the air filter too.

SOURCE: 2005 chevy silverado 1500, service 4 wheel drive, gears

Sounds like a bent fork in the transfer case. It is a common problem with your truck. The transfer case is a np236. If it just recently started doing this, the rebuild will cost around $800. If the 4wd has been acting up for a while, the planetary will probably need changed, which is another $200.

SOURCE: engine shuts off while driving

I would suspect a faulty EGR valve, but is the check engine light on? If it is, take the vehicle to an autoparts store and have them use a scan tool to retrieve the fault code(s) stored in the computer. Most parts stores offer this service free of charge. That will narrow the search for the problem. Sure hope this helped.

Transmission problem

If you mean a 100 mph, then that is perfectly normal. They are making engines with governors inside so a person cant try to outrun the police. Mine will get up to 100 and lose all engine power till the speed drops back down to 97. Then the engine kicks back in again.

2001 chevy silverado 2500hd duramax 4wd p0700 code came up after changing rotors and pads on front

You may have disconnected / or moved a broken wire to the ABS wheel sensor during the brake job. Also taking the brake fluid cap off and checking the fluid level, and just reseating the cap may turn off the code. Check these things first, check the wires to the wheel sensors check the fluid in the reservoir, reservoir top fit, and any wires / plugs at the brake ABS master cylinder. If all else fails have some one read the code.

Abs problem on 2001 4 wheel drive 1/2 ton chevrolet silverado pickup

I have this same problem with my 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. I found a recall on a website that said there were 1,353,718 other trucks with this same problem (no, that's not a typo). Do not ask the people at Chevy to uphold to this recall because I was turned down when I informed them about the problem. Anyway, the explanation for the problem is the wheel speed sensor mounting surface has rust and corrosion (especially in areas who have roads that get salted a lot) on it that moves the actual wheel speed sensor away, creating the thought of an icy condition. If you or a mechanic has the area cleaned, the sensor will go back to its original position, thus fixing the problem.
