The problem is that the winder motor for the drivers side window is either worn out, the arms for the winder mechanism that raises or lowers the glass are jamming or there is a rub through in the harness, either way you will have to remove the door panel to check these problems.
Try operating the window with both the driver's window switch, and the rear door window switch.
When operating window with rear door window switch help up, bang the door around the mid section and see if this frees the winder motor in that door. If it does, this would indicate a failing motor (replace). If it doesn't then strip door, and check for power to the motor when operating switch. If power is present, then replace the motor.
changed a window motor unit last week and i dont remember any problems ,it had some sort of plastic side impact bar in the way as i remember but cannot for the life of remember how i got the winder unit out ,i think you have unbolt the winder unit complete then the plastic ridged sort of panel comes free ,i know it was easy compared to other motors but please forgive me as iam a general mechanic and i can work on 5 or more different makes or types of vehicles in a day
The fault is with the regulator on the window. Remove winder and door handles. Remove door lining and reconnect window to winder rail. Reverse for reassembly
if any deflection in regulator after pressing the switch then you can go for winder regulator, try to put some oil in run channel and try it if work a little for up side then you can replace winder regulator.coz it wont have resistance to go down so if motor is weak then also it will go down, while going to up it have big resistance so if motor is weak it will not go up side.thanks
You might have some trash in the tracks, but I bet its more like the motor is bad. It always intrigues me, but the right side window of cars seems to be the first to go. Maybe its because of the lack of use in comparison to the drivers side.
remove the door trim from the inside of the door, now remove the door plastic weather protector which should expose the window glass and also the electric motor and winder mechanism.
There will be a plastic wire connector inside the door which will have to be disconnected to remove the electric motor etc.
Hope this helps
