If you have gone to the dealership, they could have cut you a key based on the VIN Number. Then you wouldn't have needed an ignition lock. I hope your new key has a chip in it? You need to reset the immobilizer.
When in the car, check the antitheft light to see if it is on; if on, it means the immobilizer is on.
Use your key to turn on the car but not start the engine.The key should be in the position for 10-15 minutes, during which most of the car systems are running, which will also allow the antitheft system to reset.
