For all types of power window problem and power windows not
working,i suggest you to go through the help links given below. Click the link
to go through its procedure to troubleshoot the problem :------
HAVEK 1005 sounds right on track.... but also try this, usually works well for non functional power windows, specially Caravans.
NO COST PROCEDURE TO FIX IT:
1. Sit in vehicle, on seat next to problematic window 2. Ignition key is on 3. Door in question is opened (in case you closed it) 4. While door is open, press and hold power window button in desired window travel, keep button pressed !! 5. SLAM hard the door closed with one hand while other hand holds button as per #4. 6. Watch window operate as it should. 7. Repeat 3-6 if necessary, but usually the first try works!
NOW, for the naysayers that says you must replace power window motors etc, at $$$ cost because the above fix does not work, or is not long lasting fix, or less than a "professional fix".... Well then, when the window fails to operate again, apply same fix again at that time.
I have fixed my van this way numerous times (usually once a year), and to all local friends I recommend this fix too, likewise do the same and are happy with the solution.
OMG. I replaced the battery in my 06 G6 and had the same problem. the windows would not roll up or down how they did before. I read the answers on here and it does work. Hold up the window switch for ten seconds and it resets. You will have to do it to each window. Worked great. Thanks
well i dont haVe that preoblem, you cant expect things to be free, the problem i had was the window will stay up or down sometimes but with a little force it works maybe someone spilled coffee or something on it, just dont slam your doors or pull them shut too hard
The window coming unglued is not an unusual problem for that car.
The bad news? To fix it correctly, you have to replace the top (like $2,500+)
I did automotive trim work (upholstery) for 19 years and have seen a number of problem with convertible top back windows (not just VW).
But because of the design of the top, the back window insert style, and the heated back window, they don't come cheap.
You can try taking it by a local trim shop (listed in the phonebook under automotive upholstery) and see if they have a "patch" fix they can do, but I can say, no patch is going to fix it permanently.
Sorry I don't have better news, but it is the nature of that beast.
As long as the windows will work fine some of the time, it sounds like the problem is in the power supply and replacing the fuse should fix it, otherwise there may be a loose wire somewhere in the circuitry.
