You find where the leak is and replace that part of the line with the same size line and then you need to bleed the brakes and get the air out of the line. Be sure when you bleed the lines the master cylinder always has fluid in it You will need someone to pump up the brake and hold it and do not take there foot off of the brake when you have the bleeder at each wheel open or you will suck air back into the system.

Why were the brake lines replaced?

Sounds like the mastercylinder may have run dry. You have to bench bleed the master and then DO NOT allow fluid to run low, while bleeding brakes...

if master cylinder runs low on fluid and air gets in, almost impossible to bleed with out releasing the lines and bleed master it self.

SOURCE: can't get brake fluid from abs into lines after

I read this same problem all the time, the reason u can't bleed the lines is that a special tool is required that pluge into the ABS and holds the hydraulic valves in the ABS control open for bleeding, there is no way around this.

Cant get breaks on my 2002 blazer ather break lane breaks

After you fix a brake line, you need to bleed the line. There is air in the line that needs to be bleed out of the line. Make sure the vehicle is not running, totally shut off. First - find which tire the brake line goes to that you just fixed. Two - then have someone in the vehicle pumping the brake three times, then on the third time, have them hold the brake to floor. Three - open the bleeder valve on the brake caliper of the tire that the brake line goes to.(Note - You need the tire off the vehicle to do this.) Four - once the the bleeder valve is opened, and all the brake fluid, and air comes out, close the bleeder valve and repeat the whole process several more time. Each time you bleed the brake line you are releasing the air in the line, and creating pressure with just fluid in the line. Usually three to four tries of bleeding the line will solve the air in the brake line problem and your brake pedal will become hard.

2004 Dodge the longer you drive the tighter and hotter the brakes get.

all dodge caravans from 2002 through 2011 have known problems with sticking calipers. if you google caravan brake problems you will see all the complaints. there are TBI's and recalls on them. I have a 2005 dodge caravan in my garage with all 4 calipers locked up. It is a good idea to replace the brake pads with the best ones and new rotors to

98 cavalier, has break line leak that appears to be coming from under the gas filler tube.. any idea what line this could be? can I block off the line until i can get it fixed?.

the brake pressure in the lines when applying the brakes will leak if you try to block the line off.you can tell what line it is by having someone press on the brakes as you look at the line itself to see the which line the brake fluid is coming out.driving around with the brakes not working as intended can cost you more if you have and accident or hit someone, get them fixed properly, now or don`t drive it.

Blew a brake line in back then fixed the line but still no back brakes

Loosen the bleed screw and and pump the brakes until straight brake fluid comes out. Make sure you get the air all out or it will just keep happening. Make sure to top up brake fluid after as well.

1991 Ford F150 XLT has a hole in the brake line down from brake fluid holder and sprays on engine when brakes applied. Is there an easy way to fix a hole like this?

Unfortunately no. The brake line holds about 4,500 - 6,000 lbs of pressure when your brakes are applied. The only for sure way to fix this problem is to replace the line itself. Trying to do a "quick fix" to your brakes is the worse thing you can do. You will put yourself as well as other lives at risk.

Drivers side rear brake line has a hole in it near a bend just after the axle. Is there a repair kit with a flexible hose and clamps or compression fittings availabe?

The best, SAFEST, and cheapest way to fix anything that has to with your brakes is just replace the brake line.

The brake fluid you're losing doesn't only affect that brake it will affect al four of your brakes and if the leak expands you could mash the peddle one time and have absolutely no brakes at all.

Brake lines aren't that much and it shoud take you under an hour to change it.

I hope this helps you out.
