How do you jump a power window - 1987 Ford Bronco

If it is a power window u may need a new window regulator if its ur back gate window u gotta pull the panel off and check all the rods that go to the opening handle my rods were bent and caught in the regulator causing it to jump but wont go up or down

Unless you used the correct procedure on jump starting there is a possibility that you have corrupted the CPU program. Use a code reader to reset the CPU. Be careful and follow the correct to connect up a jump start battery as it causes a power surge which is deadly to the CPU.

Unplug the motor & put power to it

Why was it necessary to "jump" a car with a new battery?? You probably have overloaded the electrical system,, this may be one for a professional...

more than likely blew the fuse that controls the windows not sure how that would have happened by jump starting but I guess it could be possible. check the fuse panel under driverside dash above the brake pedals

The same fuse powers all the windows. You either have a bad switch, power window motor or a broken wire. You could try jumping the switch out. If that works you know the switch is bad. If it doesn't then the door panel would have to be removed and power checked at the connector. If you have power but no window operation then the window motor is bad and needs to be replaced. If you have no power at the window motor with the switch jumped then you have a broken wire, most likely in the door jam.

Sounds like the window lift motor assembly. These can be bought at Autozone. Unfortunately it's pretty common for them to go bad.

look under passnger seat and carpet this where the circuit breaker is located most likely you'll find a corroded solder joint 6-8 inches away from it,good luck

The power window control panel just snaps in place. Usually, a small thin blade screw driver can be inserted at the edge of the panel, and the panel can be lifted up.
The switch is a sealed unit and it is very difficult to "jump".
If your dash lights dim, when the button is pressed, this may indicate a significant power draw. It most likely would be that the motor is bad.
