Can anyone pass on some advice concerning my 2008 Highlander leaks when it rains. I recently noticed that whenever it rains the carpet on the driver side gets soaked. I took it to the dealer and they cleared the AC tube and dried the carpet. This week it rained again and the same thing happened again. There is no sign of water on the top side of the rubber mat but when I took up the mat the carpet is soaked. I looked under the dash but there is no sign of water in the area. It seems like it's comming from under the carpet. This vehicle was parked on the driveway so it's not that I drove through a puddle of water either. Did you experience this or do you know of someone who did? Thanks for your help.

When dry again use a garden hose and spray windshield and check carpet for wetness ---possible windshield leak --and water would trickle down firewall or innerfender not usually drip on top of mat if have a sunroof do same ----since you stated carpet wet again from rain storm and wasnt driven would indicate that a/c drain wasnt problem since vehicle a/c wasnt on

Had similar on 02 Highlander. Source was leak from around window trim (rust) and roof racks connector entering and going down the windshield post behind the trim. Gently remove interior plastic trim piece to the left of the windshield to investigate any water coming down behind there. Find source, disassemble whatever is required and use something like SupraExpert to seal (not just cheap silicone).

SOURCE: Rain water leak

Yes Ive had this happen to my Toyota corrola and my dodge there are 2 different reasons why this is happening 1 of them it depends on if you have a sun/moon roof if so theres a vent in there so if any water or anything goes in it reroutes it too the outside of the car if its cloggeed water will spill into the car like that and just leave puddles the second thing is if you have it parked outside with trees all around theres vents up on the hood where the windsheild meets the hood they clog up so if you look along the back firewall which is under the hood all the way in the back theres a hole that gets clogged you need to clean that out and the easiest way to do that is get someone with a air compressor and blow air in that holke to push it all out it should fix all your water problems and if you have any questions let me know ill be glad to help, also please rate me.

Thanks,
Steve

SOURCE: Water leaking into 2005 Camry 6 cyl under carpet drivers side.

I think that I can help you. It sounds like your drain-tube is plugged up. Get in the passenger side, and pull the carpet back from under the glove box. Look for a black rubber pipe that goes from a black box, and pokes thru the firewall, on the passenger side. Remove the hose from the box, and have a container ready to catch water. If water comes out of the black box, your drain hose is plugged up. Clean out the clog, and you will be golden.

SOURCE: 2004 Toyota Corolla flooded passenger side mats front and back

I would say you have either a bad seal on the windshield or the seal on the passenger door opening.

Has anyone had water soaked passenger side floor mats and rug for 2011 Bz?

Hi,

This is of concern.....especially if no recent rain.

Your vehicle is covered by warranty and should be checked by your local BMW dealership.

If there has not been any rain, but your floor is wet....it's possible your heater radiator core (radiator) under the dash, is leaking.

Seek immediate attention.

Check your rear door seals. Sometimes the get pinched when door is shut and water leaks through or under seal. Take it to a self serve car wash and pressure wash corner in question.

2002 Highlander - water gets into wheel well

The area under the spare tire in my 2002 Highlander has been filling with water, sometimes becoming so full that it overflows when driving and soaks the carpets all the way up to the front seats. The problem, which I finally figured out today, was small cracks, just above the point where the air cylinders that hold the tail gate open are connected to the body. The cracks on both sides were apparently never sealed during assembly. Water flowing back over the top is supposed to enter the slot between the roof and the top of the tail gate, flow down either side, and then exit over the rear bumper. In my case, water was flowing into the aforementioned cracks, down inside the vehicle, and accumulating in the wells on either side of the spare tire compartment, as well as the area under the spare time. My solution was to seal the cracks with a silicone sealent. This has to be a design or assemble fault, but the fix was too simple to bother the dealer. Now I just neet a week of sunshine to dry the Highlander out.

Interior Carpet Getting Wet

It sounds like a plugged drain line from the air conditioner. Most cars now run in the a/c mode whenever u turn on the climate control (even when heat is on). The passenger side front is where it would be wet, and the carpet and carpet pad act like a sponge and will soak up the water. Let me know how u make out.

Water leak on the passenger rug

You may have a buildup of A/C condensate water in the A/C cooler box. Start the car up, and run the A/C; you should start to see water dripping out from under the car onto the street. If not, the A/C condensate tube may be blocked or dislodged from the A/C box. The water then leaks out of the box onto your floor. The drain is on the pass side, under the dash, close to the center console. The pipe goes thru the body. This is a very common issue.
