When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect it again, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your car radio. The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. If you do not have this code you need to go to your Mitsubishi service centre and get them to enter this code for you.
First of all, the pin code for the radio is designed to keep someone from stealing your radio and using it in another car. To publish this code online would defeat the purpose.
Secondly, there are about 150,000 different possible pin codes to unlock your particular radio. The only way to get the radio unlocked if you don't know the code is to take the vehicle to a Mitsubishi dealer, where they can look the code up by the VIN on your car. Take your photo ID and proof of registration with you. The dealer will not unlock the radio for anyone except the registered owner of the vehicle. (At least they're not supposed to.)
Remove the 3 knobs for air system.
Remove the 2 small philip screws at bottom.
Pull bezel straight out.
Remove 4 larger philip screws on either side of radio.
Pull radio straight out.
To find out if your radio has "AUX IN", hold CD button for about 2-3 secs. If AUX appears on display your model has "AUX" connector in back. 2003 and early 2004 do not have "aux in".
