I have a 2002 subaru impreza wagon sport 2.5 liter. I recently went on vacation and left this car home for a week, came home to it not starting. I mean nothing happens when I put the key in, no lights nothing. My keyless entry clicker also will not work in terms of locking or unlocking the vehicle. I replaced the battery in the keyless entry but no luck. To me it appears I have not been able to disengage the factory alarm and it is not a clicker issue. Could the car not be receiving the signal from the clicker and the alarm is still engaged?

Sounds like your cars battery is dead. Try charging it. Even if it starts after you charge it, it may need a new battery.

SOURCE: 2002 Subaru Impreza Sport Wagon electrical - door locks

Make SURE your door key, outside in the door... is straight up and down. The security system is protecting the car, it thinks the doors need to be locked. This is sometimes caused by the keyhole not being verticle.

SOURCE: 2002 Subaru Impreza Sport Wagon electrical problems, door locks

I have two Subarus, a 1990 and a 2000 -- both have systematic doorlock problems. The best suggestion I can give you is to Google Subaru forums, there are several good ones, and by postinfg and looking at archives, you will get answers from people who have had this issue. How do you remove the rear liftgate support cylinders from a 2007 Subaru Impreza Wagon?

Open rear liftgate and there are little slide clips on each end, you pull the clips then slide gas strut/support cyls off. Most new replacements come with new clips.
