Ford Taurus & Five Hundred Clicking Noise In Dash Repair .... I have a 2008 ford taurus. there is ticking rapidly coming from the driver side by ...
My Chevy Impala started a clicking sound under the dash. It stopped ... Change the A/C controls until you hear the clicking sound coming from under the dash.
Turn the switch on to power the signalstat/flasher,listen for the ticking sound(have signal on for the side that works)and figure about where the sound's coming from(will be just under dash about the knees when sitting in seat)then stick your hand under there. You will feel the flasher ticking.Pull it down and replace it.
sounds like it may be a problem with the flasher unit if you can get the indicators to work trace where the clicking noise is coming from be somewhere behind the dash on drivers side
that vehicle has a desperate relay for the hazards which is why they work, you have a defective signal flasher sometimes called a signal relay, follow the noise to locate exactly where the part is, usually under driver side of dash, it is a very cheap part and easy to install.
It could be a relay clicking under the dash due to a bad ground circuit somewhere in the vehicle. It would be best to have a professional put an ear to it.
Sounds like the turn signal flasher module has gone bad. It controls the brake lights and turn signals. It is located under the drivers side of the dash. If is a rectangular black box with a grey connector and 8 or so wires connected to it.
If signals work , even if only one side works, just turn on the signal to what ever side works and listen for the ticking sound , most times on S 10 p/u it is on driver side under dash above brake pedal area, but again listen for clicking sound and you will locate it...
It is probably a relay clicking that is going to go out in the near future. If you have a problem with the chevy down the road, first thing to do is check your relays under the dash with a cheapo ohmmeter or muti-tester and check for resistance
All the time or only when vehicle moving?
