Why won't my 1998 ford windstar start?

Sounds like a typical failure caused by corrosion at the battery terminals or the terminating ends at the chassis (negative) ground point, the starter or starter solenoid.
To clean these, always disconnect the NEGATIVE battery terminal first and re-connect it last.

If you already haven't lost it, your alarm system and radio may not be accessible without reentering one- check before disconnecting.
A simple device available at parts stores that uses a 9 Volt block battery can protect against this loss for hours.

It's going to have to be looked at. But you can try unlocking a different door with the key. Hold it to the left (unlock position) for 2 or three seconds. Should shut off the alarm and allow you to start it.

1998 windstar van: charging system light goes

It could mean the alternator has gone bad already... with the car off, the battery leads should read 11-12V.. with the car on, the battery should read 13-14V.. if it's lower then it's not charging your battery and if it's higher, it's damaging your battery....

Battery keeps dying on 2001 Ford Windstar.

Check your battery terminals make sure they are clean and corrosion free.
Also check all ...A-L-L courtesy lights in your car. there are some ceiling mounted lights that are passenger operated and may be on... Also check your glove compartment and consoles for lights.
Also check for charger cords... These have indicator lights and sometimes can drain the batt as well.
Also, under the hood, is a gravity activated lamp . Open the hood and make sure that it's going off and staying off as the hood closes...
Let me know if you find anything...

1998 ford windstar wont start

Check and clean battery connections, check voltage at battery should be 12v checked with a meter. Make sure that other ends of battery cables are clean and secure as well. Most times these tests will get you started...If you need to go further, I can help you with those as well.

WON'T STAY TURNED OVER

have you checked for a fuel cut off switch? I was rearended last year and had the same issue right afterward and it was b/c the fuel cut off switch had kicked in and I had to 'unclick' it - it was located in the trunk of my crown vic - not sure where it may be in the Winstar - in the back somewhere.
