Flooded wont start

1999 Chev. Tahoe with 5.7L engine wont start, Cranks over fine, battery is fully charged. The no start condition appears after sitting for several days of non use. It smells of fuel (flooding). I previously had it towed to a shop and the fuel pressure was checked over several days with no leak down. No codes are set in the ECM. Where should I look next?

SOURCE: 1998 Chevy tahoe Hard to start when cold

Hello, yes the check valve is in the fuel pump assembly. The check valve is leaking and the pump will burn out soon. Unfortunately the aftermarket fuel pumps can be very unreliable. A good portion of problems we see on this site are from people who replace the pump sometimes twice and it still doesn't work.

replace your MAP sensor(manifold absolute pressure) the map sensor is the computer for your fuel pressure regulator telling how much pressure. Unless your tahoe runs like **** going up hill than it inevitably your fuel pump

SOURCE: '96 Chevy Tahoe won't start

i had similar problem. hard to start in morning but once started, would start everytime until next morning. i changed fuel pump, filter, fuel pressure regulator, coil, cap, rotor, pickup coil, battery. i was finally told the '96 had a recall on the fuel injection assemby. i changed that out with the new mpf system and it solved the problem. runs like a striped ape. hope this helps.

My 2007 Chevy Tahoe is having trouble starting. It starts after I try more than 3 times.

Check spark plugs for condition and gap.
Clean Throttle Body and MAF.
Make sure battery is fully charged.
Check for codes and ECM data.

I have a 1999 Chevy cavalier that has a hard time cranking, but will always start. The fuel pump is coming on and working any advice would be very helpful. P/S i bought the car used with this problem.

Is the battery fully charged for the cranking operation? If it is and still cranks slowly check to make sure that there is no corrosion on battery contacts. If all checks out fine it is possible that the engine may have overheated before you owned it and some parts expanded and were damaged with result that it is hard to turn the engine over .

Roblemssometimes starting p

Your gas is flooding your engine, It is LPG isn't it. you have a faulty gas converter, the one on the mud guard, it has a valve in one of the pipes. you need a LPG specialist

I jumped car off it crunk on its own fora day, then batt went dead again, this time it won't jump off. It wants to crank but won't turn over.

not sure what you said but.
seems the battery is discharging,? 12.6v is fully charged,
own a voltmeter?
try a good loaned battery , does it start the car,?
i think you meant?
i can jumper cable start my car at any time. (off another running car)
but after running my car, the battery discharges and it will not crank at all. right?
this means ,the charging system on your car is bad.
if the starter cranks great, then the engine is flooded or is in great need of a tune up (sparkplugs etc)
if flooded try the super secret in the op guide, crank with throttle wide open , this magic trick cuts all fuel injection allowing the flooding
to purge away, and eventual starting.
my guess 2 is the car wont start, so you crank the battery flat
you jumper start it and it runs. (luck)
then day 2, same deal cranks ok but wont start.. ever tune up the engine?

1999 Chevy Tahoe won't Start. Motor will not turn over.

I'm assuming that by turning over, you mean that the engine fails to turn with the starter . Check your battery for 12v and make sure all connections are clean and secure. If battery has less than 12v charge it and check the charging system after re-starting. Lights and radio do not pull the same amperage as the starter and may not tell you much about battery condition. If you have full battery voltage, check the starter for 12v at the battery connection and the small (trigger wire) for 12v with the key turned to start position. If you have both, likely starter has failed.

1999 tahoe won't hold charge

you may have an earth problem, but unlikely if did not register on diagnosis so you'll probably need a new battery or it may need conditioning( distilled water so might as well get new battery).

Cranks but wont start stability control light comes on

OK.....sounds like its flooded thats all......Put the battery on charge to ensure its fully charged,Un clip the top of the air filter housing so it is loose and you can see the filter. put your foot to the floor on the accelerator pedal and crank the engine, keep it cranking and cranking until it actually fires up,even when its trying to and it sounds to have fired up,wait until it actually starts to rev up then stop cranking and release the pedal,it may pop and bang through the air filter pipework and it also may smoke at first but once its warmed up a bit take it for a spin. The stability control light will come on because of a drop in battery voltage and should go out when its started up....hope that helps

Wont start - but cranks well

Check your throttle position sensor. If it is bad it is telling the computer that the engine is flooded and not letting it get fuel.
