Hi Dave; Hey I'm sorry but I don't have any better nowadays a vacumn line diagram than the next person(as a natter of fact less cause I'm poor at operating computor) The Camry originally came with a vacumn line diagram on the hood. You should be able to find it online otherwise find one someone will let you look at or even go to the boneyard(old fashion way)and find the same 4 cylinder Camry that has a hood & sticker on it-Good Luck;John T
It sounds like you may have a dirty or defective IAC (Idle air control) motor or a vacumn leak. I am assuming that you have a 4.0 liter V6. These engines have some vacumn line on the intake that is bad about developing leaks over time and have to be replaced. Should'nt be an exspensive fix.
You have vacumn lines the run to your transfer case and then to the vacumn motor on the front axle. you need to check the lines and connections. If vacumn is working fine, then motor on front axle is bad.
The gray vacuum hose is for your heater control valve. It shuts it off when on max a/c . Repair the hose and put it back on. It can also cause your a/c to blow out the defrost.
it may not be a vacumn leak from a line, check the throttle shaft for movement, for example,i had a 89 1 ton 350 and my throttle shaft was moving around a lot and in order to keep it from idling high,i had to kick the throttle pedal. But also check the idle air control valve, which is the round sensor on the side of the throttle body.
