Generic description is faulty air intake temp sensor. You might actually have a bad sensor, could be a short in the wires to the sensor, or it could be an extremely dirty air filter. The description supplied from FoMoCo is:
The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is built into mass air flow sensor or in some vehicles mounted to the air filter duct housing. The sensor detects intake air temperature and transmits a signal to the Engine Control Module (ECM).The temperature sensing unit uses a thermistor which is sensitive to the change in temperature. Electrical resistance of the thermistor decreases in response to the temperature rise. The Intake Air Temperature signal is used as an input for various systems in the vehicle.

2005 Chevy Cavalier. Where is the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor located please?

Edited to tidy up the English, and the code is P-Zero, not P-Oh.

If your PCM is returning a P0113 error code, it means that your Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is reading at too high of a voltage. This sensor works as a basic resistor. The PCM sends it a continuous current of five volts, and monitors how much voltage it gets back.

I have and error code of p0113

A code P0113 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

  • Internally failed IAT sensor
  • Faulty connection at IAT sensor
  • Open in IAT ground circuit or signal circuit
  • Short to voltage in IAT signal circuit or reference circuit
  • IAT harness and/or wiring routed too close to high-voltage wiring (e.g. alternator, spark plugmag-glass_10x10.gif cables, etc.)
  • Faulty PCM (less likely but not impossible)

Code no. 113 and 603 came up on the computer for my 2001 Ford diesal truck. What does the code refer to?

P0113 means you have an open circuit in intake air sensor area, or a bad PCM.

Is your intake air sensor unplugged? That would definitely cause that code. It's unlikely your PCM is bad.

The P0603 is because of your programmer and isn't anything to worry about. It just means the programmer has interrupted power to the internal memory when it uploads the new program.

2001 malibu shifts rough

code p0113 means: IAT sensor high temp

and the solution:
The Intake air temp sensor is located inside the air flow meter and uses yellow and black wire and the black wire. IAT sensor circuit code P0113 indicating excessively high voltage or (Open Circuit) the ECM is either not seeing the correct voltages at terminals 66 and 80 under the dash at the ecm. It could be as simple as a broken wire under the insulation right at the air flow meter, Or a little worse a bad air flow meter. There are cheeper remanufactured Aair flow meters available at Nissan for your car around $150 instead of $400 like they used to be new.
