SOURCE: how to remove 2002 ford taurus radiator

Remove the rad support cover, remove the electric cooling fan and shroud, disconnect the tranny cooler lines, drain the cooling system, remove the upper and lower hoses, remove the rad brackets on top of the rad (one on each side), have someone hold the AC core out of the way and carefully slide the radiator up and out

SOURCE: car jerks at rapid acceleration

try changing your fuel filter. It may be a throttle position sensor, but if it was an electrical problem, your "check engine" light would be on and a mechanic would have to put the computer on it to test.

I would suggest changing your fuel filter.

SOURCE: ford 2002 taurus

look on the back of the sleeve the serpentine belt came in...it should have multiple diagrams showing the setup you just have to choose the one for your engine. to replace unbolt the back of the alternator remove the belt and work backwards to install belt.

you have to pull on the belt to get give from the tensioner unless you have the required tool... it makes it A LOT easier but nothing a little elbow grease cannot handle

2002 ford taurus gas pedal goes to the floor and getting no acceleration. the pedal itself is loose and won't retract into the up position.

The spring or wire that connects your pedal to the throttle body may broken or damaged. Check under your hood and look at the throttle body (it's the carburetor looking thing). There should be a steel wire connected to it coming from the back of the engine bay. It should connect on the side where you'll see a few springs. If nothing looks broken there, turn the part of the throttle body connected to the spring and wire. If it revs up when you move it, then the cable could be broken somewhere between there and the gas pedal.

Alternatively, the linkage on the pedal could have been disconnected some how. Check behind and above the gas pedal to see if eveything is connected properly.

Vehicle wants to stall on acceleration

The most common reasons for stalling is a faulty throttle position sensor or low fuel pressure.

2002 ford taurus. jerks terribly when accelerating from 40 to 60mpg. Mechanic just told us we had a cracked water pump. Can a faulty water pump cause the car to **** when accelerating?

This sounds more like a misfire problem then a waterpump issue. If the waterpump is faulty it should be replaced before any serious overheating issues occur and damage the engine. As far as the waterpump causing the car to **** would say not likely. Is the check engine light on? If so the codes the vehicle has stored would be a better way to get to the issue. Please feel free to ask any additional questions.
