You had best check that the bolts are tight.

SOURCE: Alignment 1997 jeep grand cherokee

You really need to get your Jeep off of the ground, preferably on fixed supports and have a friend help you with the troubleshooting since you need to be underneath to observe and they need to man the steering wheel.
The problem you describe is severe and dangerous so finding the worn parts shouldn't be difficult; I have seen and heard 'clunks' while the steering was turned even slowly back and forth.
Whatever you replace however, you simply cannot do the final wheel alignment on your own. You are dealing with increments of degrees of toe- in or out, caster, camber too, and these must be correct or uneven tire wear and lousy steering tracking (unsafe at any speed) will be the result.
I believe a good investment for all of our vehicles (family-wide) is the purchase of a Haynes or Chilton service manual. Sometimes you can save a few bucks on eBay but none of them are over $30 abd worth every penny.
We have your same year of GC and the Haynes manual number for it is:
50025
Good luck and don't forget to actually finish tightening (or torquing) those nuts and bolts!

arms so with that much lift your diff angle could be off. needs to be 7deg. also if your sure the ball joints are perfect and its alined right them look at the stearing box for play in the arm . it can be adjusted with the set screw. jeep-xj.com hope that helps....

SOURCE: 1993 Jeep Wrangler - Front Axel U joint, why no C clips?

The factory u-joints use plastic injection for retainers so when it comes time to replace the factory u-joint use a torch to heat the u-joint cups and you will see a melted plastic worm come out the side of the drive shaft, now you can drive out the old joint.
The replacement joint will use inner c-clips.

2004 ford freestar rumbling noise as I drive down the road at about 45-60mph - it sounds and feels a bit like I hit a rumble strip but it is coming from the engine

Sounds like a half shaft. Reach around behind each wheel and see if there is play in the shaft that leads from the wheel to the transmission. There should be no play. Other possibility is a bearing hub. Jack up car, grab the tire at 9 and 3 o'clock. Shake wheel if there is movement not from the tie rod then it is the bearing hub.

90 eagle talon esi rumbles driving down the road?

Sounds like you have a problem in the Overdrive sensor or the lockup in the converter. You should see if a scanner will identify this problem. Ask at the autoparts store about "What they show for an Overdrive switch or Servo?". Autozone, Advance, and Oreillys do free scans.

Check your transmission fluid as the trans works hard in top gear with pressure directly driving the tallest gear in the trans. Low fluid levels could be causing the converter to kick out of Lockup.

How to put a 95 or 96 jeep cherokee sport in 4 wheel drive. handle is left of the gear shift.

You can change on the run but as a general rule stop to change to 4wd.except 2wd to 4wd high.Just slow down to about 15mph and back off the gas.
2wd high is normal running
4wd high(is full time 4wd)this is slippery roads or muddy roads.
4wd high lock For bad and slower slippery and rocky roads.
4wd low lock is for extreme 4wd conditions
Don't use the last 2 on the main roads or transfercase will be damaged
Hope this helps

Car will not stay running while stopping.

you might have an engine problem...im going thru sort of the same thing right now....it kinda makes a rumbling motion when your slowing down and feels like it wants to completely shutoff as you come to a stop...i dont really know if there is anything that can be done, try a tune up first but if that doesnt help it then just deal, it a nusance but hey at least it still runs.....

Open door tone???

Are both doors closing tightly? Perhaps one is just loose enough for it to send signal that it's open. Even try sitting still with vehicle running and open one door at a time, and push lever of button that trips it, in with your thumb, to see if it stops. if you come across one that doesn't do it instantly, or it goes on /off with slightest movement, you probably found the culprit. Let's try the free/cheap/obvious things first.
