Sep 23, 2009 - 97 GMC Jimmy 4x4 blinkers work, reverse lights work, above window ... I just lost hazard lights and rear brake lights, they were working 2 days ... With key on door open, hold switch in down position and rap door panel with rubber mallet...if it works, need motor, if not, check switch for power out to motor
Make sure the transmission gear selector is in the Park position, before attempting to start your Jimmy. I don't believe the problem lies with in your security system. Make sure the negative and positive cables are firmly attached to your Jimmy's battery, and also the contact's on the starter motor's solenoid, which you should be able to see by lifting up the splash shield on the passenger side, front of your Jimmy. If none of the solutions above don't work then the problem is probably due to the battery in your Jimmy not having a very high charge level.
