Belt is stretched or jumped a tooth ahead.

  • Anonymous Jul 15, 2014

That is not the timing belt the question is about & it has chain

  • Nick Valentine Jul 15, 2014

Even the chain can have slack enough to jump a tooth. If crank walks in and out it will damage front pump gears on transmission.

The main crank bearing thrust washer (rear bearing)
face is worn ,for any number of reasons

The only fix is to remove the motor & change
the main bearings.

How do you know it is not just a failed crank damper
pulley, that is causing the misalignment issue, could be both
I guess

If the crank is walking, then your possibly going to also have
transmission torque converter problems or flywheel breakage

SOURCE: Need diagram/schematic for serpentine belt replacement

Should be a tag on the core support somewhere that shows a diagram how to install your belt, usually its right on top where the radiator bolts to core support, open hood look down on top of support or its on the inside of hood open hood and look up see if theres a tag with a diagram of belt installation

SOURCE: 1999 Dodge Ram 360 5.8 liter engine feels like transmission is sl

Hi, the problem you are having sounds like the differential needs replacing this can be expensive and hard work but not doing this can cause further damage to your vehicle so its better get it done sooner rather than later.
If on the other hand your only getting a vibration through the steering wheel then this could be that the wheels need balancing.
You should know which of the two problems you have if you need further assistance then just let me know ok

2013 Dodge Ram pickup truck. What causes the seat belt not to lock?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

Hi Joe
New vehicle?

The catch in the female section on the floor is faulty. Try spraying it with WD40 or just go down to the breakers yard and pick up another one.

Or do you mean the belt spool doesn't lock? It takes inertia or an abrupt stop to lock it. Head down an empty road with dry road surface at 50 mph and hit the brakes hard and throw yourself forward.

Where are the timing marks on a 2.4l 1990 mitsubishi dodge ram 50 import? changing waterpump and belts.

The cam(s) have an indentation between two teeth that correspond to mrks(s) on the metal backplate on the culinder head. The crank gear will have a dot on it that lines up with a small peg, I believe. Rotate the crank to TDC mark on balancer and check cam marks. If not seen, rotate crnake 360 degrees and see cam marks line up. Wehn removing the belt, the cam(s_) will move slightly WRT the crank s they will be under some force to rotate so the valcves are clsoed. Know that when installing the new belt. Also, repalce tghe hydraulic tensioner and ilder pulleys to be safe. Good luck removing the harmonic balancer! Nasty job, that.

Where is the crank shaft positing sensor hookup in the wiring harness of a 94 dodge ram 360

It is hard to get to - the sensor is at the back of the engine mounted through the transmission bell housing. The connector should be within 6 to 8 inches from the sensor. The sensor reads a sensor ring on the flywheel/flexplate.

I have 94 dodge 1500 had the transmission rebuilt about 6 months ago .on the interstate about 10 min into the drive at 65 to70 mph it starts surging. It done that before the rebuild and after. Checked it...

If that transmission has torque converter lock-up, it may be disengaging and engaging the lock-up causing the rpms to raise and drop about 500 rpms. (causing a surging fealing). If you experience this again notice the rpms and see if it's doing that. If that's the case I'd say your transmission is getting too hot and the torque converter lock-up solenoid is kicking on and off or acting eratic. If it were me in this situation I'd invest in a $30 transmission cooler and install it using the directions that come with it and see if that helps it.

The serpentine belt seems missaligned as it goes from the crank pully over the tentioner and down to the power stearing pully. the belt ride the tentioner towards the outside.

The tensioners have always been a problem on the mini vans,if everything else that the belt rides on looks good then its probably the tensioner

Serpintine belt routing 95 dodge spirit

moz-screenshot.jpgYou can find one at autozone.com, you may have to sign up for a free account, but you can view the job diagram there. It looks like for a 6 cylinder, there are two belts, one goes from the crank pully around the water pump then the alternator, and the other goes around the crank shaft then the power steering pump and then the air compressor pully. The power steering and air is a "v" belt and the other is a ribbed serpentine belt. they both just wrap around no wierd routing. the only thing I do not see is the idler pully or tensioner pullys.
