SOURCE: cant find dip stick for transmission
this is a sealed transmission, it has no stick stick, the fluid must be checked by the dealer using an electronic scan tool.

If there is no dipstick, then there will be a plug on the side of the transmission that you remove and put your finger in to feel the lever of fluid. (I hate this style personally, if ur trani is too full of fluid it drains out through this level checking hole) if its too low ... you don't know how low so add until fluid just begins to drip out, or if you can see into the hole, fill until fluid gets to the rim.
Can you shift into 2nd? 3rd? etc. if you can shift into those easily then fluid is probably not the cause.
It could be a worn clutch, worn out shift forks, damaged teeth on gears. there are several more, if this does not solve it let me know and give as many details as you can to help diagnosis.
SOURCE: where is the transmission dip stick?
THE DIPSTICK WAS ELIMINATED AND TUBE WAS CAPPED OFF..DEALER HAS SERVICE DIPSTICK TO CHECK FLUID LEVEL..A TRANS SERVICE SHOP MAY ALSO HAVE THIS TOOL
SOURCE: I have a 2001 Dodge Caravan SE 2.4L 4 cylinder
You need to, at the minimum, change the fluid & trans filter. Easy proceedure. With van jacked up & blocked so it won't fall, use a large collection tray under trans pan & remove pan bolts. let oil drain into tray. use screwdriver to pry pan off. clean pan thoroughly & trans matting surface. Remove filter. You may need to adjust low rev band. Check with dealer or parts store for proper clearances. Put new filter on & tighten bolt[s]. Use new gasket & rebolt pan. Use gasket sealer on pan side only. You'll need 4-8 qts. of the proper tranny oil. Fill through trans. filler hole. Start engine & let warm up, check level & don't overfill or you'll have to suction out until level.
SOURCE: where is the Transmission fluid dip stick to add
Hello and Welcome to Fixya,
Very sorry Sir, as far as I know. The Dip stick is not included in this model. The transmission fluid must be checked only by the professionals at the dealership's place using special tools for the job (so that the unit shouldn't be over runned by the user and for long life safety of the engine).
You should contact the dealer near your place for the completion of the job!
