I had the same problem with My 1990 F150 300 6cylinder 4x4.....I cahnged all the same things you did, finally I sprayed a can of Gumout through the throttle body and it worked and ran great. Now I add fuel injector cleaner to the gas and a regular clean with the gumout and the problem has'nt come back. Good Luck to you and hope it works!

SOURCE: bad stumble on acceleration pops through t- body.

Sounds like the fuel pressure regulator. Could also be that the timing jumped. But I'm leaning towards the pressure regulator. Hope that I could help. Best wishes.

SOURCE: 1990 ranger 2.3L runs rough.at idle and when

There will be an egr control solenoid that allows vacuum to reach the egr solenoid, sometimes it will be called the egr vent solenoid. It is probably bad.

SOURCE: sputtering and hesitating

Try replacing the PCV valve, and spray the carb, or throttlebody, with a good carb and choke cleaner.

First thing to try would be different fuel. Use a fuel stabilizer and fill with good gas. see if that helps. Also, check the fuel pressure.

My 1998 Ford Explorer runs rough under hard acceleration

New plugs and wires?

Double check to make sure that you've got the routing and firing order right... if you have 2 switched, the car may still idle well but then pop and sputter on harder acceleration.

The next step would be to run some "Complete Fuel System Cleaner"... If that's the problem, you should see results within 20 miles or so.

Runs rough at start up,then runs okay, Hesitiates momentarily when moving from a stopped position. Occasionally wont start and runs rough, then runs okay. This problem is intermittent

you have a bad injector, if you have A... as it states on the top of the motor 2.8, 3.1 L MULTI PORT and dies or idles really rough and the exhaust smells like strong gas. most likely you have an injector that has shorted or is shorting out and from my experiences usually after a road trip or using fuel injector cleaner or buying a used car. it will cause half the motor to not run or run poorly VERY POORLY or even burn out 1 injector fuse out of 2 under hard acceleration or idles but as soon as you touch the gas pedal dies. but only if it is a MULTI PORT fuel injected motor. ive heard you want to try and replace them with bosch injectors out of a 2.9l ford bronco/ranger. only attempt if you got the mechanical know how sometimes if not done right will leak gas because of the injectors being kinda different length. research before attempting.

Idles okay, runs rough when gas applied

Either a bad MAP sensor, or TPS. What is the code for the check engine light? This will most likely tell you what it is.

I have a 1988 ford bronco it is ideling low when u give it gas and let off trucks idle goes all the way down and shuts off start it back up does same thing it kinda runs rough to

I am assuming it is a carburated engine. Sounds like the accelerator pump is not pushing the extra fuel when required as the accelerator is depressed. Time to rebuild the carb. The kit will contain a new accelerator pump. Look for a tag on top of the card with numbers and letters on it. It will let the parts house you go to know what specific carb is on the vehicle so you can get the correct rebuild kit. Good luck.

There are many issue that can be causing this problem. hopefully this information is somewhat helpful
