have someone tap on gas tank while you cranking it,,if it comes and goes while they do it ,, you need fuel pump

go to the front axle and take the actaushwaiter out and gert a new one

SOURCE: 98 tahoe put in rebuilt trans. now no fire to fuel pump wont start blowing fuses

Depending on which fuses are blowing, you may have shorted a wire in the harness to the fuel tank.

Either it is not getting fuel into the cylinders OR the spark plugs are not firing. Could be defective ignition switch, blown fuse to the fuel pump, blown fuse to the ignition, bad connection somewhere, you failed to pay for your permit to drive from the Homeland Security Bureau

1998 chevy k1500 idle fast

Sounds like it could be a dirty or faulty idle air control valve.Take it off and clean it with a wire brush and a non-chlronated brake cleaner or replace it with a new one.Make sure you reset the computer after cleaning or replacing the valve.
