Check brakes to make sure that they are not low then check brake fluid level if low add fluid and the light should go off. If it doesn't check the float/sensor on the inside of master cylinder and make sure that it is floating and make sure that wire plug on master is plug in for sensor to read. If all of this don't work check and make sure that emergency brake is not engaged or not hanging up. engage and release to make sure it works. If all of this don't work then you will need professional help. Good Luck

the most common cause of this in your Ford based on my dealer related repairs would be a part called the rotating ribbon contact (Ford refers to this part as the Clock-Spring contact.) that connects the steering wheel airbag to the steering column wiring, this contact coils and uncoils as the wheel is turned left and right and makes a solid connection to all steering wheel mounted components and controls. To change this part you must dis-arm the airbag and remove the steering wheel, if u do this repair yourself it is very important that u dis-arm the SRS system before starting work, this can be done by disconnecting the battery for 1 hour.

I'm assuming all of the brake lights are on? If so there is a brake light switch located way up under the dash that hits on the arm for your brake pedal. If this is not "closed" when the pedal is up (not depressed), your brake lights will stay on. It is adjustable.
