SOURCE: Dodge deisel with automatic transmission.

WHEN TRANSMISSION PULLING HEAVY LOADS IT WILL START OVERHEATING.YOUR TRANSMISSION FORWARD DRIVE CLUTCHES STARTING GETTING TOO HOT TRYING TO HOLD.BUT START TO SLIPPING.WHICH CAUSE TRANSMISSION SHIFTING UP AND DOWN EVENTUALLY TRANSMISSION WILL OVER HEAT CAUSE EARLY TRANSMISSION FAILURE.YOU PROBABLY NEED A AUXILIARY TRANSMISSION COOLER TO SAVE THE TRANSMISSION..

How to fix my 2001 Chevy Tahoe tow/haul keeps coming on when not pushed. If I leave it unattended will it cause my transmission problems cause I just had to replace it

Tow/haul mode enables the operator to achieve enhanced shift performance when towing or hauling a load. When tow/haul mode is selected, the tow/haul switch input signal to the body control module (BCM) is momentarily toggled to zero volts. This signals the powertrain control module (PCM) to extend the length of time between upshifts and increase transmission line pressure. Cycling the tow/haul switch again disables tow/haul mode and returns the transmission to a normal shift pattern.

Would't trust it , take an have DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes checked by a qualified repair shop with a factory or professional scan tool . Auto part stores can not check BCM code's .

What would cause my TAHOE TOW/HAUL mode to engage on its own?

You need to have a diagnostic scan tool hooked up ,glitch in one of the control modules or a wire in the circuit shorting to ground ! probably something simple but hard to find ! With a factory scan tool they can check the input signal to the BCM ,PCM .

Pull shifter boot-ORANGE wire which runs from Tow/Haul button down column-when the steering column is adjusted this wire will get pinched. Take a look-it took me six months to figure this out-thanks to NO help from GM.

Tow/haul does not work on 2000 chevy truck. whereis fuse?

I had a problem with my tow/haul button not working. I came to find out that the gear shift had cut the wire running to the button in two. You may want to check that.

Transmission tow/haul mode

Hi, the problem is when you are tilting the steering wheel all the way up it's putting to much tenstion on the wires that come outof your shifter that run to the tow/haul button. i am 99% sure your wires are disconected. rewire them and add some extra wire so next time there will be more slack in your wires.
