Cooling fan not working pontiac montana sv6 2005

Your electric fan should only kick on when the van tells it to. The way this is accomplished is by a sensor. I dont know where it is located on your vehicle specifically, but they are sometimes located in the radiator (common for aftermarket fan kits).

no the flush will not help. Will the fans come on when you turn the ac on.. You should have a fan relay under the hood.. Have you hooked up a scanner to the computer.. If it never gets hot enough it wont turn on. The fan is computer controlled by a modulated ground. If you dont get a ground signal at the motor when at 230 degrees you may have a defective PCM.

Cooling fan problem

The electric fans on some vehicles dont stay on all the time. If the radiator is not burningyou then i would suspect the guage is bad. The engine would throw a code if the fan was not working properly, so im pretty sure that your fan is working properly. I hope that helps you out.
