How to take out the glass in the rear hatch on 2003 axiom

You can fix your rattling hatch with foam draught excluder insulation. It appears to be a known issue.

The smell of fuel is worrying and likely to be a small hole in the fuel tank or the fuel lines. It can be fixed with epoxy putty if you can find it. It needs to be fixed ASAP.

Even the manual is vague here. You need to look under the chrome trim where the main hatch lever is. Off to the far right is a handle which, if you get down and look, appears to be a vent or something. Put your fingers in and pull up, this will release the hatch... then pull up on the small handle on the hatch itself.

A salvage yard. You may have to buy the door with the glass.
Some automotive glass shops will sell you the glass, but I would think the price would be close to the same as a dealer.

your rear glass on your tail gate is ajar ..press the round circle button on the gate from the outside and the glass will pop open at yah close the glass a little harder since the latch is a bugger to catch i get this all time with mine

and your rear access msg will disappear and your rear windshild motor may work since the glass isnt fully closed the wiper wont run

Removed the inspection cover for the lock mechanism on the inside of the back hatch and used a screw driver to manually unlatch the door while someone else was pulling on the handle. It turned out there was a lot of glass around the pocket where the lock mechanism was possibly binding the lock

not sure of the set up on your jeep off the top of my head, but uruthane glass adhesive is the only thing that is good on glass......its what holds in all the glass on your vehical

The glass did close and neither the glass or rear hatch would open. It did turn out to be the lower hatch switch which I had replaced.

So sorry for your luck unfortunately in the business we refer to them as Ford Exploders
