I don't know what you mean by lose pressure. Oxygen sensors tell the computer what the exhaust gas mixture is in relation to the amount of oxygen in the exhaust. The computer then adjusts the fuel mixture to compensate. It can have a dramatic effect on the fuel economy. Oxygen sensors are consumable and their life depends on the type of gasoline and any additives that are in the gas. The average life of the sensor is 60 to 80 thousand miles.

SOURCE: camshaft position sensor on a 2003 ford taurus, how to replace

Need a repair shop to test the sensor

A sensor code doesn't mean the sensor is bad
could be the cam sprockets stick

Your best off with the use of professional test
tools for diagnosing that

Look at some you tube video on the subject
for your car & engine size

Bad catalytic converter, or crank sensor will cause those issues. I would suspect the converter.

What would the car be doing if it needs a oxygen fuel sensor

Possible causes - Faulty Upstream Oxygen Sensor Bank 2 - Fuel pressure high or low - MAF sensor dirty/defective - Vacuum leak on engine - Leaking fuel injector or fuel pressure regulator - Faulty Powertrain Control Module (PCM)

I have a 2003 ford taurus i was driving it like the engine started shaking so i turned off my air conditioner but it just started to lose speed but will not get over about 5mph

run fault codes and find out which sensors are faulty. The loss of power indicates that it is in limp home mode . Check oil level and coolant level at the radiator cap.

2003 ford taurus what to do to fix,have codes 1131 and 1151.

error codes 1131 and 1151 say : Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch Sensor Indicates Lean - Bank No. 1 (1131) and 2 (1151).

a lot of causes are possible:

* Short to VPWR in the harness or HO2S
* Water in the harness connector
* Open/shorted HO2S circuit
* Corrosion or poor mating terminals and wiring
* Damaged HO2S
* Damaged PCM
* Excessive fuel pressure
* Leaking/contaminated fuel injectors
* Leaking fuel pressure regulator
* Low fuel pressure or running out of fuel
* Vapor recovery system
* Air leaks after the MAF
* Vacuum Leaks
* Improperly seated engine oil dipstick
* Leaking gasket
* Stuck EGR valve
* Leaking diaphragm or EVR
* Oil overfill
* Cam Timing
* Cylinder compression
* Exhaust leaks before or near the HO2S(s)

the idle up and down is because the electronics ist stuck in a try to compensate, overcompensate, reset cycle

The green overdrive light on the dash keeps flashing and the transmission jerks into gear. Any suggestions on how to solve this. The test codes that come are P1747, PO156, and PO161. I have already...

not an oxygen sensor

vehicle speed sensor or oss is most likely cause.

Output Shaft Speed Sensor (OSS) 7H103: The output shaft speed (OSS) sensor is a magnetic pickup, located at the output shaft ring gear that sends a signal to the powertrain control module to indicate transmission output shaft speed. The powertrain control module uses this signal for torque converter clutch control, shift scheduling, used in determining EPC pressure. Symptoms: No converter engagements, harsh shifts, abnormal shift schedules. DTC: P0720, P0721 std~us~en~file=d14110a.gif~gen~ref.gif

Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) 9E731: The vehicle speed sensor is a magnetic pickup that sends a signal to the powertrain control module. This VSS signal tells the PCM vehicle speed. The PCM uses this signal to modify upshift schedules. Symptoms: Shift engagement/disengagement (hunting) on grades. DTC: P0500, P0503, P1500, P1501, P1503
