Did you go off road in the mud or woods? If so the connecting plug where all the connect probably has gotten disconnected.I think it is near or between the fuel tank and rear bumper.

itsounds like they are shorting out . you will need to follow the wiring for your signals and look for a wire that is shorting out, and be sure to check the ground wires as well.
SOURCE: heat dosent work
when you mean cranks do you mean the blower runs or heat comes out for 5 sec,if its the latter than the heatcore is plugged or water pump is weak if its the water pump then increasing the rpm's the heat will warm up,look into the overflow tank or radiator and if anything looks like pudding than someone has mixed orange and green antifreeze and plugged up the cooling system
SOURCE: 98 Jeep Wrangler turn signals and flashers don't work
The tail lights on the 98 use the screws that hold the light to the body of the jeep to ground the lights. Chances are the wholes that the screws/bolts goes into have a coating of rust around them and are stopping the lights from grounding. This may not be the solution but you need to eliminate this from your list.

Crank position sensor has a higher failure rate than it should...however i would not change it "at random" Check for continuity between b&c terminals of the sensor with a digital ohmeter.
There should be no continuity between them (b&c should be marked on connector) No continuity reading is same as when probes are not connected to each other.
I really dislike when people try and help and use terms that owners can't understand ... "check your zxy and qtr then add an abc" dosen't seem helpful. I hope I am as clear as I can be!!!
Good luck.
