"DOOR" dash light and dome light always on, how do I fix it?

I haven't worked on one for several years. If I remember correctly there is a black button switch for each door. That button has a small center piece that can slide in and out to allow for slight variations in the body of the car. You should be able to figure out which one is the culprit by going to each one at a time and pressing in on that black button. With all doors closed, when you press on the one that is acting up, the light should go off. If not, just get a pick or needle nose plier and pull the slide out (gently) on all the buttons. Now when you close the doors it should allow the slide to remain out far enough turn off the switch. It could have been pressed in by accident or someone really slammed a door harder than necessary which depressed the switch too far inward.

Why do the interior lights stay on when doors are closed and engin is off in 2003 ford windstar

one of the door switches is stuck. you can try and free up, however you need to find which one it is. try and spray pblaster, or rust renetrant into the top of the latches, and dont forget the hatch door as they usually stick the most. someone with a good scanner can tell which door switch is staying on, or the dealer can for a fee........jim

Door ajar light and dome lamp comeon occationally while driving

These have no button type switches. They are located in the door latch inside the door. Just unhook the plug at the door post under the rubber cover one at a time to find wich one is faulty. you will need to trick the door switch by manually closing the lock on side of the door. Do one at a time. That's what I did.

1998 dodge neon window does not close

Sounds like a window guide is broken or disconnected allowing the glass to shift forward. Only removal of the door panel and visual inspection will tell what the problem is.

Door open light stays on when sliding door is closed on a 1995 dodge caravan

Our '93 was doing that and in this case it was that the door latch was out of adjustment and not closing the switch properly

Door ajar light stays on

go to your local parts store and buy a can of PB BLASTER lubricant then open each door and spray the latch assembley really good then close and open the door 10 to 15 times. do this with each door. the door ajar light switch is located in the door latch assembley and cannot be seen so soak the latch assembleys really good so lube reaches the switch. these switches sometimes get stuck but this usually frees up the switch

The internal lights of my Chrysler Neon car is always on.

I had the same problem a few months ago. If you locate the pressure switches on the door frames (which are pushed in as the doors are closed to switch off the lights) you will see that the centre of each switch is adjustable. Working on each of the doors, if you carefully pull the centre of the switch out slightly and then close the door the switch should then adjust itself and create the contact needed to switch off the interior lights. I hope this helps. David W

2004 dodge neon fuse problem.

The dome tight is actually a combo fuse/light. If that light is burned out; 1 the locks won't work, and 2 the odometer will flash "FUSE" and 3 the "DOOR" warning light will stay on - try replacing the bulb. If it stays on with all the doors closed, more then likely one of the switches that are built into each of the door latches is not making the correct contact to shut off the dome light/dash light. The correct fix is to replace the defective latch. The other option is to just cut the wires that feel the switch inside the door - then the car will think that door is always closed and the lights will not come on when you open that door.
