There is normally one under the hood and one inside the dash. The is a lot of confusion with the vehicle type, S10, Tahoe, C10, Celebrity, plus the fact it is so old!.
Hello, all these codes are transmission related. P0740 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction P0753 Shift Solenoid A Electrical P1860 - TCC PWM Solenoid Circuit - Electrical If any of solenoids have picked up some debris, or tiny pieces of metal from worn transmission componets, they will often set a fault code. Just something to keep in mind.
PO753 code on a Durango can also be caused by a bad transmision relay in the relay -fuse block behind the battery in the engine compartment. (relay # 31 on 1999 Durango) Before you attempt to replace the 3-4 solenoid, or take to a transmission shop, try changing the relay out with another known good relay, reset the code and try it. I learned this today from an honest transmission shop. Shifts normally again, check engine light is out, and the shop did not charge me a dime. Kudos to Trans Medic in Gresham OR.
Another name for it is throttle position sensor. It is usually on the side of the throttle body, usually black in color, has a 2 wire connection, attached with 2 screws. Needs replacing.
