What are codes P0133 & P1134, for a 2005 Buick Lacrosse 3.8L V6 with 94,000 miles.

Two weeks ago a mechanic replaced the O2 sensor in front of the catalytic convertor because the engine light was on and the engine was running rough. Also, the remote start had stopped working. He also did a complete brake job on the front end. The engine light went off and the engine ran smoothly to Houston & back,700 miles round trip. And the remote start worked again. After returning home and driving around town for a few days the engine light is back on and its running rough again. And the remote start isn't working. Auto Zone code reader showed P0133 and P1134, bank 1 and sensor 1. Both are O2 sensors and one is the same sensor that was changed 2 weeks ago.

I have replaced an O2 sensor and had similar failure after 1500 miles.
I removed it, chkd it, reinstalled it and it ran fine.
P0133 is related to slow response of O2 sensor. P1134 is mfg specific so google that for ur car.

SOURCE: i just changed the o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2

Well, FIRST let me ask you what does B1S2 mean to you?

Bank 1 means it is the same side as the #1 Cylinder
Sensor 2 means it is the Sensor DOWN STREAM or AFTER the Catalytic converter..

With this being said... Are you sure you changed the correct O2 Sensor?

The Second thing that I need to tell you is this... Because it says O2 Sensor. Majority of the time it is the Sensor, but it could be other things... Broken Wire, Computer, Fuel Pressure and if it is DOWNSTEAM... Then it could be the CAT.

THEN.... I looked up and see that it was a HONDA and low and behold it occurred to me...

WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR O2 Sensor From? (this is where I saved so many people)...

Honda has made the variables so TIGHT that an AFTERMARKET O2 Sensor does not work....

If you have a ULEV Vehicle (Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle), you are pretty much forced to get the Sensor from Honda....

That would be my FIRST GUESS.... Get the HONDA Part...

SOURCE: Code: P0133 - O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response Bank 1 Sensor 1

is this a 4 or 6 cylinder?
if a 4 cylinder it will only have 2 o2 sensors
V6 will have 4 o2 senors which the sensor will be the right side of the engine first sensor.
1st sensor on exhaust, I recommend if you change one change all, as this will make the computer when it rechecks the system you have all clean/fast responding sensors.

if you have a slow response it means the sensor is dirty and not reading well, which is usually caused by minor misfires that the engine computer dismisses, so a tune up would be recommended too.

SOURCE: 2002 Subaru Forester P0136 see P2270 P2271 intermittent idling fluctuation and acceleration hesitation

Is the wiring good going to the O2 sensors? Maybe just look the car over and see if you have any bad grounds. They can do weird things. Could be a bad ICU.

I have a 2010 Buick Lacrosse that had the P0420 code. Replaced the Bank One Cat and the code and the check engine light came on again with the same code.

Did they use an original equipment cat from the dealer or an aftermarket one? Aftermarket cats can cause more problems than they fix. There very few that I will personally install.

are they monitoring downstream O2 sensor data to see if the O2 sensor may be biased high? If the cat is doing its job the downstream O2 sensors will read a lower voltage. Tricking the vehicle into running rich or lean will cause this voltage to change ( unplugging a coil will cause the Downstream O2 to read high as the cat tries to burn off the extra fuel. Unplugging a fuel injector will cause the downstream O2 sensor to read low as extra air is being pushed thought the cats). Making sure the downstream O2 sensors are capable of switching should be part of the diagnostics.

Are you sure they replace the right cat? There are 5 different engine options for this car. If you let me know what engine you have I can let you know what bank is bank 1.

I have a 2004 corrollacode p0133 do you have fix for it

P0133 is code for aged O2 sensor(s) 120,000 miles or higher.

Is there engine blowing white smoke (losing coolant) or burning oil?

Any thing beside exhaust will shorten the life spend of the O2.

Change the one between engine block and catalytic converter first.

Front oxygen sensor code. Check the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator and make sure it is ok before you replace the sensor. Any vacuum leak can also cause the code.

Check engine light came on though the car runs fine. Mechanic said the code was p0153. He reset it and had me drive it around 'till it came on again. Came on two weeks later.

Why would a mechanic tell you to drive a vehicle
with an O2 Sensor Code, and why clear the code?

Plain stupid

PO153-O2 Sensor (Bank 2 Sensor 1) slow response

Just buy the sensor and replace yourself.

It is slow because it is worn out, most likely over
100,000 miles on it

Replace both front sensors ,if you have 2,the ones
closest to the engine

I plug in a de-coder. It says, "P0133"

P0133 is a 'lazy' O2 sensor, bank one, side one-it is on the same side as number one cylinder and is in front (upstream) the catalytic converter. O2 sensors get 'lazy' or switch slowly as they get older die to deposits building on the tips or dirt around the outside of the sensor. On a scanner that does real time monitoring, you should see that it is switching between higher readings (.8-.9 volts) and lower readings (.1-.2 volts)-it is expected to perform these 'switches' at a certain rate and if the ECU (brainbox) determines that it is under-reporting, it sets the code. As a rule of thumb, an upstream O2 sensor should be replaced at 100,000 miles. This will assure better overall performance as the O2 sensors ability to monitor the engine is critical.
