with car off and keys in pocket open hood and check all pulleys and components something not turning possible seized such as idler pulley alternator noise is belt being dragged over something not turning
I had a similar problem. My battery was new, charging at 14.5 volts when running, 12.4 volts static. Checked all battery connections and grounds, all good. Checked started and found it loading the battery with over 250 amps, normally about 75 amps. BINGO! time for a new started. Test your circuits with a voltmeter and ensure low resistance. Make sure your battery is charging.
if you have air ride turn it off it runs at anytime so if that's it you have a air ride problem....battery may not be in good shape/alternator as well can test battery and alternator free at advance auto to rule this out....g/l
As said before some thing is still on could be door switch, hatch switch, hood switch light under hood something plugged in to lighter all the time or just a dead cell in battery that could be checked at auto parts store.
Take it to a Lincoln dealer. The Lincoln body has a longer warranty than most cars. Your liftgate may not be made of metal, but the through and through failure warranty from Rust could be questionable enough to cover it.
We had a new door and trunklid warranteed after 5 years on our Mark 7. Plus they painted the entire car.
