Remove the old one and the new one just slides in and is retained by a 10mm bolt.

I need to put a crankshaft sensor but I don't Know its location I already changed the cam sensor. Ronnie

The crank sensor is located on the engine near the flywheel axis of the crankshaft.

Crankshaft Position Sensor Removal & Installation To Remove:
Location of the crankshaft position sensor on the 2.4L engine 90904g51.gif
Location of the crankshaft position sensor on the 3.0L engine 91154g20.gif
Location of the crankshaft position sensor on the 3.3L and 3.8L engines 91154g21.gif
NOTE: On the 2.4L engine, the crankshaft position sensor is mounted to the engine block behind the alternator, just above the oil filter. On the 3.0L, 3.3L and 3.8L engines, the crankshaft position sensor is mounted on the transaxle housing, above the vehicle speed sensor.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  3. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor electrical connector.
  4. Unfasten the sensor mounting screw, then remove the sensor from the vehicle by pulling it straight out.
To Install:
NOTE: If the sensor removed is going to be re-installed, clean off the old spacer on the sensor face. A new spacer must be attached to the sensor face before installation. If the sensor is being replaced, be sure that a paper spacer is attached to the sensor face.
  1. Install sensor and push the sensor in until contact is made. While holding the sensor in this position, install and tighten the mounting bolt to 105 in. lbs. (12 Nm).
  2. Connect the crankshaft position sensor electrical connector.
  3. Lower the vehicle.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.

Cranks but won't start put in new

It may be the crankshaft sensor. Some cars use sensors that "watch" the crankshaft. When you turn over the car the sensor sees the crankshaft moving and tells the computer to send fuel, spark, etc. I am not real keen on your particular car but it sounds like this may be your problem.

Explain :P0320 ignition engine speed input circuit malfunction: it was driveable but it just cut off and want run at all.

My truck was doing the same thing.... replaced the crankshaft sensor first, truck would still die after about 10 minutes of idleing, it back-fired thru the engine and blew off the back of the intake manifold. Pulled the monifold, reglued end-cap and put back in truck. STILL died after idleing for 10 minutes. Code PO320 kept coming up ( crankshaft sensor) researched it and found a bad camshaft sensor can cause crankshaft sensor to act up and give code for the crankshaft sensor. Replaced camshaft sensor and the truck runs like a dream !!!!!! I believe the Manifold was cracked for a while causing the 1299 code reading ( vacuum leak) the back-fire finished it off! I would check the back of your intake manifold for a leak. The combination of fixing the vacuum leak , cam/crankshaft sensors seems to have fixed the problem. GOOD LUCK!!!
