SOURCE: Factory alarm disabled starter, How do I reset it
it probably isnt a factory alartm it most likly a dealer installed after market alarm or one of those chip type starter locks.look under dash for a little connector looking thing with wiers going to it NOT THE TRAPAZOIDAL CONNECTOR if it has that one you will have to reconnct the start wire that was cut to allow the thing to work [add on thing has failed] or look for wires that are not in neat order with splices to various things and a plastic box usually zip tied somewere under there. repair cut during installation start wire.
if it were a factory alrm simply lock and unlock door with key try all doors in case lock cyliner switch is bad on drivers door, also remote should do it to
SOURCE: I lost my remote key to my 92 sc 400. I had a
Yes! but you will need to remove the door panel and remove the alarm harness on the back of the lock cylinder. Once removed you will need to manipulate the harness to make the car think you unlock the car with a key.
SOURCE: Don't have remotes anymore. Alarm keeps going
I have a Code Alarm and needed to replace the battery. Funny thing is, I never knew I had the alarm until this problem happened (bought the minivan used). Town and Country 2006. Anyway, it turned out to be a real simple fix for me (after spending several hours messing with it).
Get some thick gloves on to make you feel safer (I'm not an electrician and always fear I'll shock myself when dealing with the car battery)
Unhook the negative on the battery (black). Place key in the ignition and turn to the point where you would normally be able to run all things electric without the car starting. Re-attach the negative cable. You may hear several clicks at this point as if the electric system is doing its job. Try starting the vehicle. Alarm should not go off and the vehicle should start.
I found that anytime I disconnect the battery, the car alarm problem returns. This includes if the battery died (and I don't disconnect it). Good luck.
If this works, then make sure the negative battery cable is tightened onto the battery so it doesn't come loose.
