Dash lights are complicated as power is supplied by a ribbon cable that also does other features. Check the Light Dimmer wheel first as that is the main reason for having no dash lights..

That fuse diagram is un the underside of the fuse box cover.

Fuse diagram is normally on the back side of the fuse box cover. Otherwise, find it in your owner/operator manual.

If the lights, stereo, and other electronic components have stopped working, there is a strong possibility you have blown a fuse. The fuse box is located in the integrated power module on the right side of the engine. Refer to your car's manual to know which fuse may be causing the problem. Under the cover of both the fuse box inside the car and under the hood there should be a diagram showing what each fuse or relay is for.

I found several images at Google but too often it was NOT for the 97 avenger so you could get fooled. I was not able to copy the the one for the relay box and post but you should be able to hit Ctrl +P and get it to print for you.

This one indicated it was for the fuse box. Hope this helps.
