Will a bad temp sensor make a car run hot

I got a new water pump, hoses, gas cap, themostsat, radiator, temp sensor &sender on front of motor, my engine light is also on codeP043 . We can take the thermostat out the car will run without running hot. I just dont underrstand. The fan run so good it blows my hair when im under the hood. But I have notice one thing the fan comes on as soon as the engine start it dont have to be running hot before it comes on. I got my temp sender form ford motor. whats a t-stat. I have return two water pumps thinking they were bad. the run out in about 15 to 20 minutes setting in the driveway.
