Re: One day I walked out to start truck would not start...
When you banged on the fuel tank and the car started that`s a tell tale sign the fuel pump is no good and needs replacing, change the fuel filter as well.

just start over go get a remote start for 130 bucks and be done lol you wont find a elec. glich unless it is tested at the time of outtage easist way out
The problem sounds like either theres a dead short somewhere or something electrical is staying on and constantly drawing power from the battery. Start at the battery cables, look for any signs of damaged or burnt insulation or even excessive oxidation around the terminals and connectors. Walk around the car, under the hood, inside the car and trunk and listen for any sounds, with the car off and no keys in the ignition, everything turned off. Sometimes you can get lucky and you can hear something running when it shouldnt be. Another question, does the car have any aftermarket add-ons? Stereo, alarm, remote start?
Look at the oil and condition and check the internal crank case pressure. You can check that by removing the engine oil cap and put your hands over the fill hole and see if there are lots of pressure coming out, if there is just walk away. (The internal parts a worn like valve guild ect). idle the car and go for a test drive when the engine is warmed up. Look for any signs of blue smoke from the tail pipe when boost is applied at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle and see if there is any engine performance problem and then try it again at WOT without getting a ticket and be safe friend. after your test drive and the transmission feels good, check the transmission fluid for condition and level. Good luck and i am sure you'll know if there is something wrong with the brakes too on your own.
easy way is to start the car and pull off one of the battery connctor. if the car stop runing, the problem is your alternator. if not,
check the regulator with a meter, it should read between 12-14v. while the car is runing. if anything less, change the regulator.
