I have a 2005 Nissan Sentra and my trunk won't open. Neither the trunk release or key works (the key won't turn). I think the release latch may be caught on something inside. Is there a way to release the back seats from inside the car?

may be manual release behind or under back seat and if not you may need to remove back seat and panal which should let you into trunk. once in there should be a release on the trunk inside to open it. most new cars have them to prevent someone from getting locked in trunk. after opened you may want to have lock system replaced or it could simply just need oiled....... hope this helps and good luck
does the key turn the trunk lock?if not theres one issue right there.the other may be that the valet lever on trunk latch assy. may have inadvertantly been engaged if deck lid was slammed closed.the release solenoid will make noise when activated by fob or lever in car but because of valet being engaged cannot release latch.does key unlock glovebox?if not this may also be a valet key cut.contact nissan dealer to cut regular key.ive seen the slamming the deck lid scenario a million times as the valet lever takes hardly any effort to engage.good luck and let me know how you make out.
this is strange. is there access to the trunk from the rear seat? if not the rear seat will need to be removed to get to the trunk and then there will be a pull ring that releases the trunk latch. it is a safety requirement on all cars to let someone get out of the trunk
should be a button or lever or pull tab somewhere along the top of your back seats that allow them to fold down..... and your trunk should have an emergency release lever inside the trunk
put some oil in barrel of lock ,if this doesnt work after a day of soaking then go through back seat open boot and lubricate everything in sight and behind the panelling
